December
Yo. Well December has arrived. It's pretty much cold too. I've been pedaling a bit more these days, trying to anyways. It's weird when racing raps up and there isn't much competition in the air. I haven't gone bowling in a long time so that's why I got the itch prob. Anyway, Tiedeman! I don't have the same email,so you gotta post on your blog so I can give you my email. I'd love ta chat if you got a free 20min. Anyway, not much else is new. I only have 16 weeks left of school
if that's believable. I'm all grows up now. Al right, Tiedeman i hope to hear from ya!

You tube
Yo. The turkey ride didn't start out that well for me. I flatted on the way to the depot and I was pretty pissed. Anyway, I went home changed bikes and headed back out. Ran into Timmer and Cain at the dog park, then the Turkey ride crew. Pretty fun, some parts anyhow.
To make me feel a little better, I read the failblog for a while and watched this a couple times:

Fenders' back
Yo. Well I put the fender back on the winter bike...FUCK! I hate fender season. Oh well, that's the way it goes. Nice weather huh? Thanks for the people who commented on the last swell blog post. This weekend I'm gonna go for a ride to make sure the fender works so if anyone wants to rock from uptown area around 9 I'm up for a slow one. Anyway, not much exciting is going on. The ICE special agent gets into town tonight so I gotta hurry up and finish some stuff. I haven't seen him since last winter so it will be nice to see him. Anyway, later.

WTF else is new?
I got 11th, Again!!! one of these years I'll break the top ten...Running race are hard. Happy B-day to patty cakes. I should have drank a little more at his party the night before the race to ensure a top ten at the grey Ghost. There's always next year I guess. Now I am officially to for the year.

Hospital
YO. Ya know it's funny how many people don't like hospitals. You definitely could put me in the category too. Today I was in one with my sister again. For as smart as doctors and nurses have to be, some are pretty fuckin' clueless when it comes to the basics. Today I worked till 10, and the went to the hospital from 10:30-2:45. The couldn't do the surgery because her blood was too thin. Something that could have been avoided if they would have given her a simple test. So she has to come back Monday...Figures

Rough Patch
Yo, Well I hit a bit of a rough patch in the Swell life.
Sometimes trying yr best just isn't good enough. Murphy's Law and
good old Benny Franklin's Death and Taxes idea, seemingly apply to my life a lot
lately.
I dumped almost 300 buck in to the winter bike, so that's what
I'm on right now.
Finally,Ten Speed on the winter bike!!!
Training for running is going ok. I think I'll do my first race
in a week or so. I'm prob gonna be around 18 minutes, so I know I got work to do before the Grey Ghost! Other than that, not much is going on just survivin'

Humbled
Yo. Sorry it's been a long time since I last updated. The road season has officially ended for me. I guess it was an ok year. Last year was a little better, but as I get older that seems to be the trend. I did the Chir Kerr road race (a WIsport race) a couple weeks back and it was just as sketchy was I imagined. No center line rule , tandems legal, and lets not forget helmets with rear view mirrors. Matt Williams won and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Him, Jimmy, and I against the tandems and aero bar people. Pretty great. The week before, Micah and I did the last Blackdog. We both met our goal of breaking 15 min. He got 14:58 and I got 14:50. I was really happy about that since I suck a time trialing, comparatively to other 1,2's. Anyway, last weekend I did the two man TT state race with Dan Casper. Fuckin' Humbling experience. We started out pretty good and kept it rolling around 29-30 the whole way out. I kept looking at my computer for time. About 8 min in I was getting pretty uncomfortable. I couldn't pull through as much and started to suffer just sitting on Dan's wheel. Pretty soon I cried uncle and it was damage control for the last 5K.
I felt bad and Dan was really cool about it slowing down for me. The last 2K were mentally the same as NVGP, drill it and hope like hell the finish is around the corner.
At the end of the day we were 3rd. 30 seconds off Gordy, and Lance Niles. If we practice and my ass doesn't come unhinged, next year I think we got a shot. Anyway, my lil' sis had a blot clot in her arm and had to have surgery to fix it yesterday. I'm happy to say she's fine and on the mend. With some swizzy pain meds to boot. Al right, that's all I got.

Get Ready!
Yo. September 12, "If your gonna scream, scream with meeee, moments like this never laaaaaast......."
The Misfits are coming to Myth Night club. I saw them at 1st ave in 1997. I think
it's gonna be a good show so I'll try to make it. Bike racing has been going al right certainly not great. Did Tour of KC and Crit Nationals. Not much to say. I crashed, got caught behind crashes, and felt ok. This weekend is the state road race champs. Hopefully, we will win. We just have to be in the moves and ride a little smarter than we have been. Should be fun. Al right, back to it.

That just happened
Yo. Well bike racing can aggravate a person some times. Sunday was one of those times. Two against six is pretty good odds, the kind you bet the house on. Good thing we didn't bet on Sunday. Pete Hanna and Pelis beat our team. What a difference a year makes. Oh well. State Road is our last chances to get another state tittle.(Ian won the Sate ITT) I really hope we can do it.
Micah and I are going to tour of KC. He is on track to get a top five at cliff drive and I'm gonna help with that. Last year I got 10th in the overland park crit and I'd like to better that result this year. After KC and Downers, I'll hopefully be in a little better shape for State road. Anyway, I'm thinking about Dakota tech tues, and Black Dog Wed, this week since I'm taking the weekend off. We'll see.
Everyone rode pretty good at the State crit, those guys were just better than us that day. Al right I guess that's it for now. Tonight, I'm hanging out with Jenn and catching up. She was in Sin City for a wedding and took some cool pics I yet to see.

Is it me, or do hangovers get worse with age?
Yo. Well we pulled it off last weekend. We won the overall at the tour of granite country. It started off pretty rough actually. Rain and wind were the name of the game in the ITT. Dougo won of course with Ian and Casper not far behind. I didn't feel good at all at the start. However, Micah was my 30 man and a great rabbit. I got 7th. The circuit race was really cool and micah got away with Dale and they stayed away. Micah got 2nd and a bunch of time bonuses and put him into 4th overall at the end of the day. This picture pretty sums up what we did on the road race stage.
We pulled all day. It was fun to work together a little better than we have been earlier in the year. We're still pretty rough around the edges, but are figuring it out a little more each time. The last time up the hill, the chasing and attacking all day caught up with the legs. I saw Paul Harrison fly by me making the final cut and I couldn't shut down the gap. I blew sky high, and then coasted in with Casper. We chatted about tactics and agreed it was a good cool down. I was really glad to see Paul make it up there, he just upgraded and is fit right now. Keep it up. Anyway, Doug won and Ian was up there too. Pretty cool. Next month is pretty full. State crit, tour of Kansas City, Crit Nats', State Road Race, and finally Gateway cup in STL.

Racin'
Yo. It's been a little bit since I've updated so here is a run-down on the happs. Northfield we tried a different tactic...race scrappy. Danno got 6th, I got 8th, and Ian got 10th. Three guys in the top ten is pretty good. St. Cloud we were outnumbered pretty bad. I bridged up to a couple moves, but nothing stuck. I also crashed in a corn field, that was neat. Williams attacked on the last climb and split the field which was swizzy. However, the non-assertive copper didn't stop a Hell's Angels' rally so we got caught. Patty won the sprint. I got 4th. Hopkins was good. Micah got in a move and Stuck it. He got third. Good job yo! Last night I did Dakota tech. What a fuckin' mess. I got 8th. The last couple 1,2,3 races, I was noticing there are a lot of hitch hikers. Some guys just won't pull. I'm mean not even roll through. Just follow wheels you dumbasses! It really isn't that hard. I dont know how some of these guys ride during the week. The must sit by the window, spot a biker, run out side, jump on there wheel and just sit there. So, since everybody is taking about categories, I propose new categories Cat 1,3 and cat2,4,5. Here is why: All the guys that just upgraded have wind allergies apparently, so riding with 4,5's should be a more fitting pace with less wind. Cat 3's want to be cat 2's. Lately, I've seen them be way more aggressive the the newly upgraded 2's. Now, before I get a shit load of pissy cry babies commenting on how tough they are, I realize that there are SOME guys out there who aren't afraid of working or at least follow wheels and rolling through. So if you are one of those guys, keep up the good work. If not, stay in the back and don't sprint at the end for 18th place.

Can i get a 'DO OVER' on that?
Yo. Well last night i was thinking how much we fucked up that crit. Bummer. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, things just don't work out. The first few lines of suicidal tendencies', "institutionalized" song pretty much sums up the st. cloud crit. Thanks for cheering and thanks to hollywood for the play by play on the PA.

Luck ran out....
Yo. Well, cause i didn't get hurt at NVPG, i cut the shit out of my leg at the last state fair crit. My chainring punctured my big ass artery right by my ankle. Uuuhff. Lotsa blood. Thanks for helping me Micah and Casper! Mike Weoll Crashed warming up a couple minutes later. WTF? Anyway the race didn't go so hot. A good group got away and I was in the second chase group in front of the main bunch. We got close a couple times but just couldn't shut 'er down. Oh well. After the race Weoll came over and we finished one of those growlers' he won in a ninja prime. It was good. Anyway, I was thinking something has been missing from the old blogger lately......YOUTUBE. Dougo tell me how much I love it and....I do. here are two great ones. Both of which ARE movies, so Dan won't be pissed.

NVGP hates on the locals
Yo. Thank you to ALL who made the big race happen. It was hard but lots of fun and wouldn't have been the same without everyone helping and cheering the locals on. Thank you thank you thank you. Dan Cleary bought a beer for me after the race too. Thanks Ok, WTF is with the NVGP hatin' on us. Ian and Doiger got bottles pulled back from them when the came through the "neutral" feed zone at Mankato. HHHmmmm. Ok. Yesterday I turned myself inside out to finish the damn stage and get on the overall results. I made it 32 min of a 60 min race. The race bible stated, riders have to complete 25% of the race to be on the overall results. Thanks Dave, you know I have a calculator that I don't use and apparently, long division and percentages are difficult for you , so let me know how I can get it to you. The best part is the lady who pulled us , Jordan (ISCORP), and I, asked me for my number....well, it's on my bike, and two places on my jersey. I'm sure it sounds like I'm just cryin, however it would be nice to be on the results if you finish a race a tough race like that. But no, I'm on the riders dropping out list. Oh well, that's life when haters put on races. If not being scored wasn't enough, before the race I locked my damn keys in the car and had to use a coat hanger to break in. Dan and Doug were pretty impressed I unlocked it and I'm sure thought I learned it in crime school. Anyway, thanks again to every body who was there at the races cheering on the locals. Thanks to Tim and Andy for bike throw too, better coverage than cyclingnews.com I think.

409 was cooler when it was a Beach Boy's song
Yo, well only two days left to the big race, . I opted not to do the state ITT on Sunday Ian won and Casper got 3rd. Awesome job team. Saturday and Sunday I got two solid secret training rides in. Hills and flats. Anyway, it finally happened...4 buck gas. Bummer..... Oh well.... It's still cheap comparatively to other countries. Al right, I'll try to get an update after the first couple stages. Oh yeah, Thanks Super Rookie. Glad to hear you don't think I'm that mean....cause I'm really not.

The big race
Yo. Well we got into Nature Valley. We only got 4 spots though.
Should be pretty cool. This week has been a little harder
than normal because of work but I got out a couple times
and raced on tuesday. State TT is this weekend and I'm not
sure what to do about that. Al right till next time

There are also a lot of funny cameo's, I'm not talkin' about

Wack
Last weekend was pretty fun...for some of us. Brian crashed and ended up in the ICU at Burlington. Hope he gets better soon. The snake went ok. I dropped my chain and Dale Sedgwick pushed me up on the 4th lap or so, thanks yo. On the lap before that Dan dropped his chain. Dougo had allergies. I finished 33rd, 3 spots worse than last year. Oh well. Melon city was pretty boring. I was in a couple breaks and none stayed away. I got in the money that day so that was nice. The quad was really fun. Micah joined us and it was goo to see him. Warming up, I had the typical shotgun blast flat. I rolled back to the truck and got another wheel. The race was really fun. Half way in the race a pretty good group got away, including E-rock who one the race. It took a while to bridge but I got there. After half a lap we got caught. In the last 5 laps, I tried to stay up front and get in the money again, but in the end I was 3 spots out, 28th. Oh well, my goal was to be up front and able to go with some moves, I was so that my me feel better. No super duper yet, but will be ready for nature valley speed pretty quick. Minnesota teams or riders won every race last weekend. Must be a good place :) Good job to Ian and Charlie for winning up in Duluth. Anyway, here is some random goodness from the trip.

My poor friend me
Yo. UUUUhhhffff. It hurts to type. Last weekend was a tough one. Here is how the trip unfolded in chronological order:
1. Got rear-ended by some army broad on the way to the road race (Jenn got whiplash)
2. Did a tough road race finished 11th, Ian got 7th, Dan got 18th.
3. Ate a great burger
4. Jenn got a cold.
5. Felt great in the crit, then crashed
6. Got to wheel pit for free lap and the holder pushed me over
7. Scraped up hip, elbow, shoulder, and hand
8. Broke and scuffed my shoes!
9. Micah crashed with 5 to go, no free lap.
10.Got home safe.
More on the weekend later. The person holding me in the wheel pit is a good one...

Weekend trip yo
Yo. well Grandstay has a crew going to Mad-town this weekend for the Baraboo road race and wheels on willie crit. It should be a fun trip and a good couple of race days. This year hasn't included much racing for me so it will be good for all of us to get two back to back days in. Jenn is coming with so that should be fun too. It's her first time going to a race so hopefully she won't be too bored. Anyway, I heard M.I.A on the current to day and love the paper planes song. Here is the video. It reminds me of my days in north Murderapolis. Al right till next week.

Racin' bikes
Yo. Well racing is really pickin' up in the next couple weeks here. oooohhhfff. Tonight might rain again and make the OPUS field small again. I hope not. Last weekend I rested quite a bit. I took 3 days off my bike. It was good I think. Work was kicking my ass last week and I'd like to be fresh for the upcoming weeks . Last night I went for a couple hours and felt better than I thought. The rest was the ticket I guess. Grandstay, whooped up on last week. We won every race there was. That was nice. Sunday, I did the race for the cure with Jenn and her mom. Lots of people came and it was neat. I missed racing, but there are more important things sometimes. Other than that, not much is going on with me. I got a whicked hang nail goin' which sucks. It should get better pretty soon I think. Anyway, Dougo tells me how much I like the'youtube'. Here is, "Ima Robot". I have been listening to these guys for about a year and like 'em a lot. I particularly enjoy this video because it incorporates full contact musical chairs.

Windy as Wack....
Yo. Well Marty went ok. We screwed up a little bit but WTF, who's perfect? 4 guys in the top ten ain't too bad. Sunday, Dano and I went for a ride and it was windy as wack too. Oh well, at least no body is getting good recovery rides in. Later I hung out with Jenn. We watched the tour of romandy. Well I watched it and she did home work I guess. Anyway, we both had really busy weekends and were tired. After I left for home, I stopped at Rainbow for some tide and Muyres was there and we were talking. I felt some one grab me and it was Kristy Kreme. She and hollywood were getting cookie dough. It was neato running into everyone there. Oh yeah, one more thing, Dano and I went to subway after our ride. I sat down first and then Dano comes up with a 20 oz. of pop. I asked, "why'd you buy that?" He said, " I don't like watered down soda" I was thinking what the fuck, now I'm even more ghetto for drinking fountain pop. Oh well, the level of old king ghetto never ceases to amaze right? We had a good laugh. Anyway, this is getting kinda long so I'll leave you with some good ol' Minor Threat, "Cashing In"

Where the hell did all the power go?
Yo. Well not even Dano's coveted google maps can find my UP these days. Kenwoods was pretty much windy, snowy, and generally insane. The race was over 1.5K into it. Doug was isolated once again. BK was up there with him for most of the day with him, but in the end it's dougo vs. the lot of the lead bunch. I'm tryin' my best but it's been bad spring for me so far. Grandstay is strong we just need to organize and plan more. Everyone rode the best they could that day, it was just hard. Ian won the bunch sprint in the main peloton, with Casper riding away at the start of the last Lap. Dougo won, BK got 4th, Casper 5, Ian 6th, I got 8th and Matt Williams 10th. We owned the top ten so it wasn't a total loss. It was just hard. The next day was a crit and Dano got 2nd or 3rd, I'm not sure. Micah and Lance were up there too. What a weekend. Tonight, OPUS should be fun, but I am getting tired of racing in full leg warmers and long sleeves. Marty, this weekend looks to be a good street fight with the weather calling for 45F and rain. A big thanks to Dan Cleary for giving me a couple of gels before the race. Thanks Yo!!! Till next time.

DURAND....and ish
Yo. First off a big congrats to my buddy Dano for winning Durand! He had a long day off the front with Jordan, BK, and greg, but it paid off. That race has always been a tough one. No wind played a huge roll so Dano decided to make it tough without the wind. The rest of the grandstay crew chilled in the bunch. Ian, Doug and Matt were the policemen of the day watching the front. Lance had a good race too and I was happy to see him riding strong. I occasionally rolled up to the front but Williams said it best when he said, "you weren't yourself today were you?" Nope. Some days you just don't have it. I usually don't feel super duper till June anyway. But still I should have been better on Saturday. Sogon Valley will be better. Tonight I'm gonna race aggressively. It should up the power for the weekend.
Till next time....

OPUS and Swell stuff
Yo, Well last weekend wasn't great. Saturday, I got and hour on the trainer in....yeah. Sunday, I rode from Jenn's house and met Paul. The ride was bad. Terrible route, at the end I put a couple good efforts in after we split, so hopefully I'm ready for tonight. It's weird, this is the latest in the year I have ever lined up. I hope that means I'll be better when August rolls around. Anyway, I figured if mentioned Swell stuff I better live up to it. It doesn't get anymore Swell than this guy.....

4.75.... BAM, illegal
Well last weekend was the grandstay training camp. I only did 2 of four days. We went fast and slow. Great times had by all. Some news for everyone, Dan is the new instigator, and loves riding hard more than me. All weekend the kid was just chompin' at the bit; Dougo has his seat 9 CM behind the BB, I have 8.8CM of set back. So I just dispelled two assumptions about me for everyone out there. I'm sure I'll still hear from people that my seat is too far back though. Everyone rode well and is coming along pretty good. Thanks to Ian, Matt, and Casper for setting us up with stuff, and everyone else who gave me food. Till OPUS.....oh yeah, Lance's seat was in an illegal position of 4.75CM behind the BB, we rocked him for a good hour on that. Sorry yo, we do it cause we love ya.

Although, Doug pushed me up the last hill, I felt ok at the start of the ride. Good job team. Anyway, I figure Ill rest till team camp this weekend. I talk to Patty Cakes yesterday, GP is going to Iowa this weekend. Our team camp will be like a race so I don't feel bad about missing the first one. Here is a great video i like Ichthyosaurs in it.

HHHHHHHhhhhhhh, this is spring huh?
Yo. God winter is tough as nail this year. It just won't let go. The winter bike has been rockin' the gas light for a while and I hope it can hold on a little longer. Anyway, I had my iPod on my punk play list quite a bit these days. It reminds me about Bozeman and my time out there with Pete, Donny, and Steve. I remember one night we all went out to the Zebra to play pool and there were a bunch of hicks playing country on the juke box. It was one after another. Steve and Donny said, "Fuck this noise, watch this". They put $10 in the Juke box and played a whole Minor Threat Album.
It was hilarious, those cowboys didn't know what hell hit 'em. Pete Lacny said, "Good punk songs are less than 2 minutes" Amen Brother.

Yo, well whoever the hell has a vendetta against me just stole my identity! I was on the phone with google to change the password word for this blog, and yahoo. However, yahoo couldn't do anything because I could not give them the right birthday. Nice, so now I have to change all my bank info and school passwords. Thanks a lot. The same person is probably the flagger right? I mean what the fuck! Its starting to get old all this security bullshit. It hilarious cause I have no money to steal whoever is doing this. Get a fuckin hobby! Oh yeah, I dont have email anymore so don't bother trying to send anything my way. Thanks for that too ya thief!

The ish watt has returned
Yo. Holy moses Saturday was a tough one. I rode with Williams, Dano, and Dougo on Saturday. First, I hate my winter bike. Second I got dropped like a fat kid on all but one hill. All those guys are climbing well. I tried leading up a couple hills but couldn't quite hold it, then went to the back, then watched the wheel in front of me slip away. Oh well. I'm pretty sure I could get back if I got dropped in a race. However, it's time to hit the hills a little more for me anyway. Saturday night Jenn and i cleaned the hockey center to raise money for the PE club's Amber Z scholarship.
That job sucked, however it was for a good cause. Sunday, I rode by my self for 3 hrs. I hit it hard on a couple flat and rolly sections but the power meter was barely moving, so I took it easy the rest of the time. Everyone is coming along well. Especially Williams, must be the peanutbutter cookies. Al right, that's it for this week. Next week I will try not to get dropped so bad.

Who Flagged my blog?
Yo. To the person(s) who flagged my blog: Really? There are a bunch of blogs way more raw than mine that aren't flagged for content. Shit, I harldy even swear, and you really have nothing better to do? I guess you gotta love the internet's blanket of anonimity right? You can be as tough as you want behind the key board. It's all good. I'm sure the person who flagged me has zero friends and plays Nintendo (Nofriendo) all day.
Get a hobby ya blowhard.

Still Winter Huh?
Yo. Well I'm sure everyone is glad the colder temps come on the weekends. What the hell? I mean it's nice pretty musch 4 days a week and then it sucks. Anyway I did a lot of this during the weekend
I went up to Grantsberg, WI, where Jenn is from to her lake house for a weekend of fun and secret training as some put it. I was hoping to go explore the rolly county roads up there, but it was just too cold. We still had fun. We went out friday and saturday night. During the day I put off riding the trainer as much as I could, then popped in a movie and just did it... Saturday her mom fixed my tights. So now no more holes! Anyway, It was a fun weekend. I hope next weekend the green train will be able to get outside and get some miles. Al ritght that's all I got.
here are some antics at Hummer's: a place where a beer and a captain coke are $5

2007 Review Part II
Yo. Sorry that took so long. Anyway, I was thinking of a few races that stuck out in my mind. The first was Gateway Cup. I was sick as wack, didn't finish one race, and didn't start one stage. Micah, however got 4th on the last day Against the likes of Dan Schmatz, and Brian Jansen. It was cool to see. The other was Elite crit Natz. It was raining like crazy the whole time. Ian and Pete Hanna know all too well what it was like. Here are some more 07 pics
Zim got the better of Aric and me on this one. Great move Dave. Thanks for bowling
To finish off 2007 I met Jennifer, She is great and we have a ton of fun together. Well that's it for this week. Next week I'm gonna start training for real and eating better...I promise. Later yo
